How To Make Sprinkles

Give your dessert a special personal touch

Are you a sprinkles lover? I love the look of sprinkles, but when it comes to taste, I have to say that I'm a bit picky! I don't like those tiny beaded hard sprinkles, for example, but I like the softer, more elongated sprinkles, and I had no idea that they are so easy to make. If you've never made sprinkles, or if you need some but all you have is icing, you might want to check out this video.

It's basically as easy as spreading rows of icing and chopping them up once they're dry. You can make the entire thing on your own by using your own recipe for royal icing, too. This is such a door-opening idea because it also allows you to customize sprinkles for the project you're working on, whether you'd rather use natural food dyes or you need a color that you can't find at the store.
