Welcome Back, Pumpkin Spice

Did you miss the pumpkin spice? If so, fear not; it's ba-ack!

From Dunkin Donuts to Krispy Kreme to Tim Horton's, everyone is offering something delicious this fall! You'll find Maple Pecan coffee at Dunkin this year, which sounds scrumptious. They will also have pumpkin cream cheese spread for the fall, which will be excellent on bagels. Krispy Kreme will be offering both hot and iced pumpkin spice coffees as well as a frozen option.

Cool Off with Icebox Desserts

Lemon ice box pie. Mmm. Just the sound of it makes the mouth water, right? Not only are they among the easiest desserts to create, but they are so cool and refreshing that it's almost like bringing a big pitcher of lemonade along with you. Sigh. Yum. If you have a summer picnic, barbecue or other outdoor activity where you need to bring a dessert, an ice box dessert is the way to go!

Pudding Day

Did you miss out on National Chocolate Pudding Day on Monday? If not, you can still enjoy pudding anytime, whether you like instant pudding or you make your own homemade desserts!

It's really easy to make homemade pudding. All you need is sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, salt, milk, butter, and vanilla extract. This recipe from Hershey's also calls for some whipped cream if you'd like to add that to your dessert.

Peaches and Cream Day

Did you know that today is Peaches and Cream Day in the United States? It seems like every day has its own holiday, and today is the celebration of peaches and whipped cream. You might think that it should be later in the season, given that peach picking usually takes place in August, but today is as good of a day as any to enjoy a big bowl of fruit and cream. When it comes to fruity desserts, two things are key:

1. Keep it simple

2. Include a unique twist

Gooey Butter Cake

If you're searching for a food that screams St. Louis, gooey butter cake is at the top of the list. It's a dense, sweet cake that's flat, dusted with powdered sugar and made with ooey gooey deliciousness. It's a favorite dessert among St. Louisans, but it's also something that a lot of tourists make sure to try when they head to the Midwest. If you do venture out for a gooey butter cake, here are some tips:

Don't go for the coffee cake! It's fine, but it's not the gooey messy deliciousness that you'll find in a regular cake.

Sex on the Beach Pops

Boozy popsicles are a great way to enjoy your favorite drink in frozen form, giving you a nice buzz while you cool off and enjoy a hot day! There are any number of recipes you can follow, but this one for Sex on the Beach pops is one of the best I've come across. Not only does it taste amazing, but the ingredients it calls for are quality, fresh and tasty. All you need are some raspberries and pineapple, some vodka and pomegranate liqueur.

Bacon Desserts

Yes, that is chocolate covered bacon. On a stick. Yes, it's delicious, as crazy as it sounds.

Have you ever had bacon for dessert? It sounds like such a ridiculous concept but more restaurants are catching on to this trend, offering up bacon goodies to eat everywhere you go. There's candied bacon, bacon ice cream, bacon parfait... Even Denny's features bacon desserts now and then!
