Sick of cookies? Wanna indulge? Try one of these for your next holiday celebration.
1. Cheesecake: I admit that I am a cheesecake snob. If it’s not mine, it better be from Carnegie Deli in NYC. That’s just how I roll. No fruit. No sour cream goo spread on top. Everyone has their own preference though and what better time to have a friendly debate than a family get-together, right?!
2. Tiramisu: Hands down one of the best, most indulgent desserts ever invented. Rich and creamy. Light and fluffy. Chocolate and coffee. *sigh*
3. Crème Brulee: Decadence, thy name is crème brulee. If you have never tried this special dessert, put it on your list of things to do. And, then go out and do it. Right now. After applying the slightest pressure with the back of a spoon, you break thru the crunchy burnt sugar top and access the creamy goodness inside. Yum!
4. Chocolate Mousse: A ubiquitous holiday dessert through the decades, chocolate mousse is a special treat for many. Head and shoulders over your everyday chocolate pudding, mousse is fabulous, especially when served in an edible chocolate cup.
5. Mom’s Apple Pie: Nothing says “I love you” like Mom’s apple pie. You can even kick it up a notch with French vanilla ice cream and a warm caramel sauce for the holidays. Sure, it’s not as over-the-top or decadently rich as the other desserts on the list, but it’s your mom, man! Be nice.
